Lighting the Orphans’ Path
Sharin’ the heavy load
Makin’ a shiny highway
From the dark and dusty road
Doin’ it all together
Like the earth, the moon, the sun
Doin’ it all together only One
Only One, only One
Doin’ it all together only One.

Vona is the Field Coordinator working with the children in Nepal.
She has spent much time over the past years living in India and
Nepal. When asked to share a few words on why she is working
with the Foundation this is what she said, “If I have no
shoes and you give me shoes, will that increase my happiness?
I believe it increases my gratitude. That you took the time to
care and consider my need and presence me in your heart, even
for a moment, that is my joy-my happiness. This is the gift I
want to share with the Children of Nepal. As a child growing
up in Ireland in the 60’s “yes” I had shoes,
but what lingers in the memories of my heart are those moments
of true caring.“

Krishna Lohani
Director/Nepal
Krishna@helpchf.org
Krishna Lohani is a former lawyer and owns a Trekking
Company in Nepal. Krishna has been working to help the
hungry children who live on the streets of Kathmandu for
a decade. When asked why he wants to work with the Foundation,
Krishna said that he is motivated by the poverty and the
fact that only 52% of the children are enrolled in school.
Many children are hungry and live on the streets, which
reminds him of his own difficult childhood on his family’s
farm in Nepal. “My parents had 8 children and we
lived in a small village. For dinner we shared a pot of
rice. If you didn't want that, you went hungry. Education
was nearly impossible since children had to walk many hours
over difficult terrain to get to class” Eventually,
Krishna and his older brother Shankar started a local school
in his valley.” We did this so that the children
could get an early education and would not have to make
the long journey until they were older, maybe eight or
nine years old. I want to get as many orphans as possible
into the School of the Little Angels in Kathmandu, the
best school in Nepal”.
